The column is made from Belgian black marble, and features classical Greek “anthemion” palm leaf relief border motifs, thought to date back as far as 2500BC.

All the metal parts are initially cast using the “lost wax” method and plated with 24 carat gold. This is a very time-consuming and expensive process, but it ensures that every tiny detail of the original is painstakingly captured.
